Black, mahogany, fawn, and other natural colored Alpaca raised here in Washington were hand-selected fleece by fleece to make up this special blend. I first discovered Abundant Earth at Flock in Seattle this year and took home a bag of Aviary to knit Sweater No. 27 by My Favourite Things Knitwear - the sweater turned out beautifully - the yarn is super soft and bouncy, and I love the flecks of white mixed in with the charcoal. Just a great yarn all around!

Wonderful Yarn
I knit my husband a hat out of this several years ago (used the Aviary hat pattern), and it's still his favorite. He wears it all winter. Just enough stretch, very soft, and a pleasure to knit with.

I bought this yarn to make the Aviary hat and I agree it is so soft to work with. Feels nice in the hand. I’m going to make a cowl and a scarf and likely more hats out if this yarn to give as gifts. I just purchased a second sweater quantity of Aviary from Abundant Earth Fiber, because I have been so pleased with the first sweater I made with this soft yet sturdy yarn. I get to see the sweater almost daily, because my husband wears it all the time. He finds it super comfortable and perfect for his activities around our little hobby farm. When my grown son said he wanted a sweater too, I chose Aviary because it is so fun to knit with and so wearable.

This wool is an absolute dream to knit with! It's so soft and silky and creates a fabric that drapes beautifully. I'm knitting a squishy garter stitch shawl with it and I'm already dreaming of ordering more for a sweater.

Dreamy yarn

really cool yarn
I recently purchased a couple of skeins of beautiful yarn from Abundant earth Fiber to make Aviary hats for my sons for Christmas. They are picky about what they wear, but I know they will like these! I haven’t worked with the yarn yet, but it is succulent and tempts me to forego my other chores...

So soft
This is so soft. It has a few random fibers in it, like small pieces of dried grass maybe? But they came out when I washed the finished piece. I love this yarn so much, I may buy more just to cuddle with.
