Cormo sheep are beloved by fiber artists for their exquisite fine wool, high crimp and long staples. Signe Ostby and her team at Valhalla Yarns produce high quality Cormo with a consistent micron count of 19 or less. This past year we’ve had the pleasure of spinning Signe's Cormo and Alpaca fibers into yarn at our mill, and we love it! We love it so much, we decided to dedicate a weekend to sharing it with you through workshops in knitting and handspinning as well as a chance to listen to Signe share her own experiences in breeding, knitting and creating with Cormo wool.
Abundant Earth Fiber's shop and knit lounge are free and open to the public 9:30am - 6:00pm both Friday and Saturday. We invite you to bring your wheel and spin with us for free Friday, 10:00am - 5:00pm. Workshops in knitting and handspinning with Cormo will be offered by Sarah Pope and Michael Kelson. Signe Ostby will share her extensive knowledge and experience with Cormo at our keynote presentation, 2:00pm on Saturday. All are welcome. Workshops cost $95 plus a materials cost of $40 for a corresponding yarn/fiber package.
