Aviary yarn captures heirloom quality fiber and craft synonymous with its Pacific Northwest home. Black, mahogany, fawn, and other natural colored Alpaca raised here in Washington were hand selected fleece by fleece to make up this special blend. This worsted weight 3-ply was designed by Lydia to bring the bounce and stitch definition of Merino together with the luxurious texture and natural hues of Alpaca.
The freeAviary hat pattern is available now! This lovable slouchy hat knits in youth or adult sizes using just one skein of Aviary yarn and will appeal to new and avid knitters alike.

I just purchased a second sweater quantity of Aviary from Abundant Earth Fiber, because I have been so pleased with the first sweater I made with this soft yet sturdy yarn. I get to see the sweater almost daily, because my husband wears it all the time. He finds it super comfortable and perfect for his activities around our little hobby farm. When my grown son said he wanted a sweater too, I chose Aviary because it is so fun to knit with and so wearable.
This wool is an absolute dream to knit with! It's so soft and silky and creates a fabric that drapes beautifully. I'm knitting a squishy garter stitch shawl with it and I'm already dreaming of ordering more for a sweater.
I'm absolutely loving this yarn - it's soft to the hand and knits up beautifully. I've never enjoyed doing a gauge swatch so much, and I can't wait to use it! Thank you so much to the lovely ladies who helped me pick the perfect colour to go with my contrast.
I recently purchased a couple of skeins of beautiful yarn from Abundant earth Fiber to make Aviary hats for my sons for Christmas. They are picky about what they wear, but I know they will like these! I haven’t worked with the yarn yet, but it is succulent and tempts me to forego my other chores...
This is so soft. It has a few random fibers in it, like small pieces of dried grass maybe? But they came out when I washed the finished piece. I love this yarn so much, I may buy more just to cuddle with.
