I saw a sweater in a magazine I'd love to have. I took my yarn and matched colors with Abundant Earth Fiber's Wool Tinctures and created the four colors I needed to make the sweater. They turned out PERFECT! Just love the dye packs!!

I love the colors in the Whidby pallet. I am looking forward to seeing them in a finished project. I would also like to thank you for the pod cast on scouring wool. It has made a difference in how my wool if processed. I can now get more processed and on the wheel. Now just to finish spinning and I can start dying the colors for a sweater.

I have used these dye tinctures dozens of times. They are easy to use, provide deep, rich colors, and the citric acid negates the vinegar smell of other dye processes. I have used these on wool yarn skeins, roving, and finished garments. I have even dyed a Geiger boiled wool jacket with them.

I decided I needed two different colors to round out a 5 color gradient/variation. I was able to use the tincture dye to do it easily and with very little mess.

United StatesWool tincture color ‘sugar snap’
This was such a fun dye experiment! I used a pour kettle with thermometer to heat the water. It was exciting to watch the color from the tea bag darken the water. The best part was adding the packet of citric acid and seeing the color kick on the wool! It was quick, and suddenly the water was almost devoid of color. I used two 50 gram skeins of my singles wool for use in a future tapestry. I’m a very happy customer!

Working with the Wool Tincture Dyes was so easy that after dyeing the first skein I had to keep going because the procedure was easy and the results were fantastic. The whole process, ordering the dyes, reading and understanding the instructions, dyeing the wool, to drying the dyed yarn, was clear and easy. The colors are so beautiful. This was so easy to use! I never planned on dying my own yarn because I thought it would be too difficult. Now I will definitely be doing more! The color was also very beautiful. One of the dye packs I choose was "Bark". It is a rich dark chocolate brown. I did let it soak longer per the instructions. I'm very happy with the results!
